A book both contains the world and reflects it.

A finished book might be anywhere between a hundred to six hundred pages, but surrounding those pages is an unseen history of all that informed them: everything that sparked an idea, a character, or moment. We go out into the world to remember why we want to write about it. It pays to be constantly curious.
